Wine Tasting Adventure

Hi Friends. I’ve missed you.

I’m sure everyone knows life gets busy and we all need to catch up sometimes.

I recently went on a fun wine tasting adventure near Santa Barbara for my friend Rachel’s 30th birthday. It was so nice to escape for the weekend, including the gorgeous drive up the coast with Mitch and spending time with friends.

This was my second time going up that way and all the wineries we visited were amazing. All wonderful but very different. First we went to Rusak where we really learned a lot about their wines and how they built up the vineyard over the course of many years. Then we stopped at Koehler where we had great wine and ate lunch outside. I think it may have been my favorite part, plus I found a little cat to follow and take pictures of. Lastly we made our way to Curtis where at that point we were all a little wine “happy”. I found dark chocolate with sea salt, bought a few fun gifts plus found a little something for me. I’ve always love a little wine and shopping mixed together. Don’t you?

Here are a few fun photos from the day…

Happy 30th, Rach!

Love in Ojai, California

My husband and I got to get out of Los Angeles to attend my good friend’s wedding in Ojai. It was such a beautiful wedding and I’m so happy for them. They did such a good job with all of the planning from choice of location, down to the little details. I really love weddings because it’s such a wonderful moment in someone’s life and to be a part of it even in a small way is really amazing. I also find now that I’m married, I like to really listen during the ceremony, like they are also talking to me. It is a nice and romantic little way to take me back to our special day. I’m lucky to have a really great marriage. Of course no marriage or relationship is perfect but I have found that communication, true listening (not waiting to talk) and hobbies of our own keep us on the right track. I have also realized that we really need to take the time to get out of town just the two of us once in a while. We needed some quality time to just hang out and decompress. It felt really indulgent to do whatever we wanted even if it was to just take a nap.

You may have already seen some of the pictures from our little getaway over last weekend via Instagram. Here’s a few more.
