Before & After Golden Jewelry Tree

I’ve been on the lookout for a simple jewelry tree for my delicate necklaces and bracelets. I just couldn’t seem to find one exactly the way I wanted. Yes, sad BUT I remembered that I have an arsenal of spray paint at my disposal. I gave a metal jewelry tree from Pier 1 Imports for $20 the look exactly like I imagined with a little white primer and metallic gold spray paint.

Cherry Red Shelf for Books & Hats

A few months back I shared my DIY Accessories Holder that made as a gift for some of Noah’s little girl friends. I wanted to add a creative touch in Noah’s room for him to hang his hats. Although I didn’t make the shelf, I did spray paint it and hang it myself. I started getting the hang of hanging shelves when I was on a recent decorating craze. However, I have yet to hang a shelf exactly perfect on the first try. Thank goodness for wall filler…

Classic Pancakes with Special Ingredient

Pancakes make me think of lazy weekends with family and friends. I have looked up tons of recipes in search of the best pancake. Here is what has become a stand-by for me:

1 cup flour
2 table spoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk (or almond milk)
2 table spoons of melted butter (or margarine)
1 egg

**Special ingredient: 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Combine wet ingredients then add dry.
- Oil (I like an oil spray) the pan and heat on medium.
- Pour batter to make 4 little pancakes.
- Watch for bubbles at about 2 minutes then flip.

The vanilla extract adds just a little something special but doesn’t over power that classic pancake taste. With practice, you can have a proud little pancake just like mine.
