It was one of those nights when I finally felt in the mood to be a little crafty. It’s been a bit busy around here since I started working full-time again. To be honest most evenings have been spent watching TV on the couch with my husband then I drag myself up to bed by 10pm. I think it’s important for me to take the time to get inspired and find energy rather than forcing a schedule for Love and Rosen. That’s just not realistic or fun. So I’m excited to be back because I really do love this. I decided to make a little delicate bracelet with some chain and beads that I already had in my stash.
I happened to have some old chain necklaces that I was probably never going to wear so I cut them up, connected a clasp to the end with a couple jump rings and a wire with peach crystal beads for the center.
Supplies:
- Chain
- Two jump rings
- Clasp
- Jewelry wire
- Beads
- Two pliers
First, measure the chain around your wrist and at the point in which where you want beads cut the chain. Cut a second piece of chain at the same length.
Use your two pliers to open up a jump ring and attach to one end of the first piece of chain then attach a jump ring and clasp to one end of the second piece of chain.
Now we need to work on the center section with the wire and beads. Thread one end of the wire through the end of the first piece of chain without a jump ring. Create a loop with the wire with a small 1/8″ “tail” of wire to wrap around the base of the wire. You should only need to wrap the tail around three times. This has now secured your piece of wire to the first side of chain. Take a look at the photos below to get a visual understanding of how to create a loop with the wire.
Next string on the chosen amount of beads and thread the other end of wire through the second chain on the end without the clasp. Create a loop and wrap the wire again to secure the other end of the wire to the chain.
Done! Just a fun and easy way to create something new and sparkly.
